Saving Money on Student Travel

There are so many different ways to save money on student travel-very good news for those of you who are sending your kids away to school! Whether they take a train, plane, or automobile, there are ways to keep your costs low and still have your student come home to visit!

I already mentioned some discount cards that can help you and your student save money on everything from rental cars and hotel stays to train tickets. Now I’ll give you some tips on that one little travel cost that can really make your stomach drop-plane fares.

STA Travel
STA Travel helps you find low rates on everything from a trip home to your students dream summer trip through Europe. They have hotel and hostel listings for many different countries, and offer reduced prices on airfare or air and hotel combos. STA Travel sometimes has a travel office right on campus, so your student can drop in or click over to their website.

StudentUniverse offers low rates on flights and hostels, and even offers train tickets and car rentals in several foreign countries. There are no shipping costs with StudentUniverse, which can save you up to $20 right off the bat.

Remember, as in any area of spending, your best bet is to compare prices until you find the best deal!

All the best,
Deborah Fox
